What Dan Teaches

Scottish Ceilidh in Brazil!

One of the most exciting things about being a freelance musician is getting calls out of the blue offering work that I never could have imagined… in this case, being flown out to Brazil to do a paid formal Scottish Ceilidh for the Caledonian Society of Sao Paulo! It was short notice so we worked hard to put together a suitable set of tunes for the dances, and met our caller, the pipe major of the local highland bagpipe band, when we arrived in Sao Paulo. The dance went really well, and we spent the rest of the trip being transported around the city to play in local schools, an old people’s home, and for the British Legion. Thanks to our hosts Jonathan and Derek and all the other staff for an amazing ten days.
